Die Schönbach-Sessions haben ihre Wurzeln im Jazzseminar Schönbach und bieten die Möglichkeit, regelmäßig gemeinsam zu musizieren, zu jammen, sich zu treffen und sich auszutauschen.
Zu den Schönbach-Sessions sind alle MusikerInnen eingeladen, die miteinander ohne Genregrenzen jammen und Musik kreieren wollen. Viefalt, Kreativität und Authentizität sind gefragt!

„Funk Rock trifft Vintage Pop“ – Betty Brown Department & Maddy Rose
Loop Bar U-Bahn Bogen 26/27, Wien, Wien, AustriaMaddy Rose fusioniert in ihrem neuen Album namens „Sunflowers“ Soul mit Jazz und Pop Elementen- eine visionäre Interpretation des Vintage-Pop. E-Gitarren werden durch atmosphärische Streicher ersetzt und Melodien mit einem persönlichem Hang zu altbewährtem Jazz gesungen, der in Maddy‘s Vocals auf subtiler Weise durchdringt. Die modernen E-Piano Klänge werden von einem kraftvollen Beat unterstrichen und verleiht den Stücken eine mitreißende Dynamik und emotionale Intensität. Gefühlsbezogene Polaritäten, Selbstreflexion und lebensbezogene Sinnesfragen sind oft die Kernthemen in den Songs.
„Betty Brown Department“ klingt wie eine Session mit Dr. John, Keziah Jones und Stevie Ray Vaughn – eine kraftvolle Mischung aus Blues, Funk und Rock, die sich vom leisen Lüftchen bis zum Hurricane entwickelt und jede Crowd zum Kochen bringt. For those who don’t know WBU:
West Belt United is a Vienna-based collective of musicians dedicated to solely improvised groove music.
„Groove Club“ is one of the oldest sessions in town (15 years now)!
Every second Thursday, musicians and music lovers meet after their concerts and jam together late into the night.
And if you just want to listen, you’re very welcome to enjoy this amazing music.
WBU is THE after-hour jam session in Vienna. It starts at 22:00, and you can play until 3:00.
And even the openers are completely improvised!
So grab your instrument and join! Learn from the best musicians in the city and network within the scene.

ABEL marton nagy’s COSMOS BAND
Loop Bar U-Bahn Bogen 26/27, Wien, Wien, AustriaAbel Marton Nagy’s Cosmos Band is a Vienna-based experimental-pop-rock band playing exclusively original music with twisted musical ideas and an energetic delivery often compared to Frank Zappa, and Louis Cole.
Abel writes music from a deeply personal perspective while constantly experimenting with various influences, including the psychedelic music of the 60’s, grunge, and contemporary pop.
Cosmos Band has undergone an exciting evolution; continually pushing musical boundaries since its inception. With a flexible lineup that adapts to the band’s ever-evolving sound, they’ve been on the scene since 2021, releasing a live album and three studio albums. In the course of their first 3 years, they’ve collaborated with 53 exceptional artists, each bringing their unique flavour to Abel’s music.
Abel received the Junior Prima Prize as a recognition of his exceptional musicianship from the Hungarian Prima Primissima foundation in 2024, while the Cosmos Band was recognized by the Music and Art University of Vienna through the Joe Zawinul prize in 2021.
